Roberto Spizzichino
is widely considered to be the greatest living cymbalsmith. Of course,
anyone who would be seriously interested in purchasing any of the cymbals below
already knows exactly who Don Roberto is and also what his work represents.
This is
the rarest of the rare. Over 20 years ago, Roberto made two of his own
cast prototypes. This is one of those prototypes. Apparently, the casting
process did not agree with Roberto, and the two prototypes are the only
two that were ever made. I aquired her from Luciano and play her quite
frequently. She is in wonderful shape and sounds killer with a tight,
dark stick that cuts well even in amplified situations and always stays
well above her trashy, complex wash.
As you can
imagine, I am not very interested in selling her. You would have to
offer me an obscene amount of money, and I would probably still turn
you down. Mostly, I just included her because I thought you guys would
like to take a peek. I'll post soundfiles when I get a chance.

Get ready
for this.... I scored another rare Spizzichino thanks to Luciano. She's
a very, very early Spizz made from Asian alloy. These Asian chicks have
a touch more trash to their personalities than the Turkish girls that
Don Roberto is turning out now, but that's just what I was looking for.
And, she's soooo thin... mmmmmm....yummy. She has just the right amount
of stick definition, but also crashes like a Knievel....fast and hard.
Like my baby above, not really for sale. But, don't be sad. Check out
all the other cymbals I have on the site. They're for sale....go grab
one!
