I finally got my grubby little paws on the big pre-split Mel. And, I gotta say... ...I really dig her. She's a great cymbal. There's just no arguing that. Excellent, chimey bell. Excellent stick. Full, rich wash. Not too heavy. Not too thin. She's an all-around great medium-thin 21 with two factory rivet holes. This one is in excellent player shape. Perfect edge, perfect hole, virtually perfect ink. Just a couple of scratches and bag abrasions here and there, and the start of a patina.
